Starting Therapy

Fees and common questions

How do I get in touch?

You can contact me by email, telephone or WhatsApp. Your first message can be brief. You can simply tell me that you are considering therapy and whether you are interested in meeting in person or online.

What will we do in the first session?

We will talk about what has brought you to therapy and what feels important at the moment. I will also ask about anything I need to understand in order to work safely and appropriately with you. You can use the meeting to get a sense of how it feels to talk with me.

What if I cannot explain what is wrong?

You do not need a clear explanation before you begin. Sometimes the starting point is simply knowing that something feels difficult, repetitive or out of balance.

How much are sessions?

Individual therapy is £60 for 50 minutes.

Can I meet you in person or online?

I work in person from Western Road, on the border of Mickleover and Littleover in Derby, and online across the UK via Zoom.

What about confidentiality?

Confidentiality is central to psychotherapy. We will discuss how it works, how your information is handled and the circumstances in which confidentiality may have limits before we begin ongoing work.

What if I am unsure about continuing?

You are allowed to think about whether the therapy and the relationship with me feel right for you. Questions, uncertainty and concerns can be talked about openly, and there is no obligation.
