What information I collect and why

If you contact me by email, telephone or WhatsApp, I will collect the contact details and information you provide so that I can respond to your enquiry and, where appropriate, arrange an initial consultation or therapy.

You do not have to provide personal information, but I may be unable to respond to your enquiry or offer therapy without some basic information.

My lawful basis for using this information is that it is necessary to take steps at your request before entering into a therapy contract and, where appropriate, my legitimate interests in managing my private practice.

If you choose to tell me information about your physical or mental health or other sensitive information, this is special-category data. Where this is necessary in considering or providing psychotherapy, I process it under the health and social care provisions of the UK GDPR and Data Protection Act 2018.

Who has access to your information

I do not sell your personal information.

I use third-party services for functions such as email, website hosting, WhatsApp and, where used, online services such as Google Maps. These providers may process limited personal or technical information in providing their services.

Some providers may process information outside the UK. Where this happens, I use services that provide appropriate safeguards or are covered by recognised UK data-transfer arrangements.

How long I keep information

If you enquire about therapy but do not proceed, I will delete your personal information within one year, or sooner if you ask me to and there is no legal reason for me to retain it.

If you become a client, a separate Client Privacy Notice applies to the information I hold as part of our therapeutic work.

Your rights

Depending on the circumstances, you may have rights to access, correct, erase or restrict the use of your personal information, request its transfer, or object to its use.

You have the right to object where I process your information on the basis of legitimate interests.

I do not use automated decision-making or profiling.
